Toyota has been talking about the bringing the Supra sportscar back, but were tight-lipped about when. Now, the company has dropped a teaser image of the silhouette of the Supra announcing to the world that "The Legend Returns". At the upcoming Geneva Motor Show on March 6, Toyota promises to bring back to the global market its most iconic sports car. Toyota's racing brand, Toyota Gazoo Racing has been burning the midnight oil for a while now to give the Supra sportscar its global debut next month. But, the question remains, will this be an actual production model or just another concept.

Now, there are a couple things that we already know about the Supra sportscar. The upcoming Toyota Supra will be based on the new BMW Z4, while continuing with the rear-wheel drive function. There are reports suggesting that Toyota and BMW are working together to produce a new breed of sports car. Moreover, both sports car will also share the same engine, but, the company will only reveal this at its debut next month. We sense it could be a BMW-sourced turbocharged inline-six engine.

In terms of design, the teaser image does not reveal much, but it can be noted that the silhouette does remind us of the last generation A80 Supra, which was discontinued in 2002. But, from the spy shots, it is clear that the new Supra will come with a double-bubble roof and large rear spoiler. In terms of styling though, the new Supra will be strikingly similar to the Toyota FT-1 concept, which was showcased in 2014. Toyota will build the Supra sports car at Magna Steyr's facility in Graz, Austria, same place as the new BMW Z4.
