Triumph Motorcycles will continue to be the exclusive single engine supplier for the FIM Moto2 World Championship for three more seasons, from 2022 till 2024. Since 2019, Triumph Motorcycles has provided all the teams with the race-tuned 765 cc inline three-cylinder engine, each of which is based on the Triumph Street Triple RS engine. The race-tuned engine revs harder and delivers a peak power output of more than 138 bhp, which is an increase of over 17 per cent on the production engine.

The Triumph 765 cc triple engine has brought a much-welcomed boost in power to the Moto2 category, transforming the performance and level of competition. Since Triumph became the single engine supplier for Moto2 in 2019, after taking over from Honda, the Triumph engine has broken several records. New lap records have been set at 34 events, including records which have been broken and re-broken year-on-year. The Triumph 765 cc engine also powered Stefano Manzi to the first-ever 300+ kmph top speed recording in the history of Moto2 at Phillip Island, in Australia. The record speed was reached in 2019.

The increase in power and torque delivered by the Triumph 765 cc engine, as well as more advanced electronics package, has provided a more relevant training and development ground, while enhancing the overall racing, as well as transforming Moto2 as a national springboard for MotoGP.
Triumph has been the single engine supplier for the Moto2 class since 2019, and new records have been set in Moto2, with more performance. In fact, the gap between Moto2 and MotoGP has been shortened due to the 765 cc triple engine's performance.
In the last two years, Moto2 graduates have gone on to take podiums and victories in their first seasons in the premier MotoGP class, including 2019 Moto2 World Champion Alex Marquez who took two second places in 2020, and title rival Brad Binder with a victory in 2020, and more recently in Austria in 2021. Jorge Martin took his first Moto2 victory in 2020, followed a year later with his maiden MotoGP win and further two podiums in 2021.
