American manufacturer, UM Motorcycles has increased the prices of its models, the Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sport S marginally. This increase has happened barely a couple of months after the company had reduced the prices, thanks to the GST effect. Both the bikes are using the same engine which is a 280 cc single-cylinder motor that makes 24.8 bhp and 23 Nm of peak torque. The bikes have a six-speed manual gearbox.

As shown in the table above, the Renegade Commando gets a price increase of ₹ 2,173 with the new price being ₹ 171,091 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Similarly, the Renegade Sport S gets a price increase of ₹ 3,374 with the new retailing price being ₹ 168,280 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

UM Motorcycles has only two models in its portfolio currently, but will increase it to three soon. The UM Renegade Classic is all set to be launched this year and in addition, UM is trying to ascertain whether bringing in a middleweight adventure touring motorcycle. These are interesting times and we believe that more options in the Indian two-wheeler industry are always welcome.
