Ducati Multistrada V2

The Ducati Multistrada V2 is the new entry-level model in the Ducati Multistrada family, and replaces the Ducati Multistrada 950. The new Multistrada V2 is offered in two variants, with a standard Multistrada V2 and a higher-spec Multistrada V2 S. The base Multistrada V2 has been priced at Rs. 14.65 lakh (Ex-showroom), while the higher-spec Multistrada V2 S has been priced at Rs. 16.65 lakh (Ex-showroom). The new Multistrada V2 is 5 kg lighter than the Multistrada 950, with new engine and vehicle components. The top-spec Multistrada V2 S gets Ducati Skyhook semi-active suspension, along with a few dedicated colour options. The Multistrada V2 S with Slate Grey livery and "GP Red" rims has been priced at Rs. 16.84 lakh (Ex-showroom)

The Multistrada V2 is powered by the latest evolution of the 937 cc Testastretta 11-degree L-twin unit. Engine output is 111 bhp at 9,000 rpm with 94 Nm of peak torque at 6,750 rpm. The engine gets new con-rods, a new 8-disc hydraulic clutch and the gearbox has been refurbished too. Ducati recommends oil change every 15,000 km and valve clearance check every 30,000 km. The six-speed gearbox comes with a bi-directional quickshifter. New connecting rods, new covers have aided in reducing engine weight by 2 kg. Weight reduction, even on the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels have added to an overall dry weight of 199 kg for the standard Multistrada V2, while dry weight of the V2 S is 202 kg. The Multistrada V2 is equipped with a 48 mm diameter upside down KYB front fork with 170 mm travel, adjustable in spring preload and hydraulic brake in rebound and compression. At the rear is a Sachs shock absorber which is remotely adjustable in spring preload with a hydraulic press and hydraulic brake in rebound and compression. Rear wheel travel is also 170 mm.

The Multistrada V2 features four Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro), each of which benefits from the presence of the Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) platform to act on the intervention levels of ABS Cornering, modifying the character of the bike depending on the choices of the rider. The Ducati Traction Control (DTC) of the Multistrada V2 is adjustable on eight levels, while ABS Cornering is adjustable on three and at level 1 it offers "only front" (non-cornering) functionality. The Vehicle Hold Control (VHC) system helps the rider in uphill starting phases. It activates when the user, with the motorcycle stationary and with the side stand retracted, applies high pressure on the front brake lever or on the rear brake pedal and is able to keep the vehicle stationary by actively intervening on the rear brake. This feature turns off automatically after 30 seconds, if not used.

The Multistrada V2 gets a state-of-the-art electronics package, especially on the S variant, which includes cornering ABS, 8-level Ducati Traction Control, four configurable riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro), cornering lights, and Ducati Brake Light system, which flashes the brake light in the event of sudden braking.
