A Part of Jaguar Land Rover Limited, the British origin multinational car manufacturer is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors since 2008 and is headquartered in Whitley, Coventry, United Kingdom. Founded in 1922 as the Swallow Sidecar Company, Jaguar initially made motorcycle sidecars before manufacturing passenger car bodies. Formerly known as S.S. Cars, the company produced its first car in 1935 and changed its name to Jaguar in 1945. Tata Motors officially bought Jagaur Land Rover from Ford Motors in 2008. In India, the company has its assembly plant located in Pune, Maharashtra where some of the Jaguar cars are assembled. Jaguar India range includes premium saloons, coupes, convertibles and roadsters.
