2023 Yamaha Crosser 150 Adventure Motorcycle Launched In Brazil

Yamaha Motor has launched the new Crosser Z 150 adventure motorcycle in Brazil. The new Crosser Z is based on the FZ FI 150 sold in India, which piques our interest in the entry-level ADV. Visually though the model is poles apart from the India-spec Yamaha FZ 150 and comes with a host of highlights including the tall and rugged design, LED projector headlamp with an LED daytime running light and a sharp beak placed right underneath. The model also comes with an upswept exhaust, elongated seat, a mobile charging socket and a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity.

The Yamaha Crosser 150 is taller, gets a sharper design and a long-travel suspension too

Power on the 2023 Yamaha Crosser comes from the 149 cc, two-valve single-cylinder engine that develops 12.2 bhp and 12.74 Nm. Compared to the FZ FI sold in India, Crosser Z makes slightly less torque. Do note that the Brazilian version is tuned to run on petrol and ethanol. Other cycle parts include 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels with Metzeler Tourance dual-purpose tyres. The bike gets telescopic forks at the front with 180 mm travel and a monoshock at the rear with 160 mm travel. Braking performance comes from disc brakes at either end with single-channel ABS. The Crosser Z tips the scales at 137 kg (kerb). The seat height is a tall 845 mm.

The Yamaha Crosser is offered with a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity

The Yamaha Crosser Z is priced at 16,790 Brazilian Reais, which translates to about ₹ 2.70 lakh in Indian currency. That would certainly not make it feasible for launch in India. However, a locally developed adventure motorcycle based on the FZ FI 150 surely seems like a possibility that Yamaha Motor India should explore. If priced correctly, the Yamaha Crosser 150 should be able to undercut the Hero XPulse 200 4 Valve that currently retails at ₹ 1.32 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is the most accessible adventure motorcycle in India.
