Electric cargo and passenger vehicle manufacturer Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) inaugurated a new manufacturing unit in Faridabad, Haryana. This facility is the company's third in the state, with the first two being located in Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Faridabad. The new unit has seen an investment of Rs. 75 crore (USD 10 million), and will initially have a production capacity of 15,000 units per annum, with the first units rolling out by August 2022.
The company will invest an additional Rs. 150 crore (USD 20 million) over the next 3 years, to take the manufacturing capacity up to 50,000 electric three wheelers per year. OSM will manufacture models like Rage+, Rage+ Rapid, Rage+ Frost and Rage+ Swap in the cargo electric vehicle range, and Stream from the electric passenger vehicle range in this facility. The first OSM facility in Faridabad has a production capacity of 7,200 electric cargo vehicles per annum, and also serves as the company's R&D centre, while the second facility has the capacity to manufacture 12,000 electric two-wheelers. The company also has a facility in Pune to manufacture electric cargo and passenger vehicles.

Speaking on the launch of New Manufacturing Unit in Faridabad, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility Uday Narang said, "We have an order book of 50,000 plus cargo electric three wheelers. We have set up this facility to meet the growing demand of the market."
"We have invested USD 50 million (Around Rs. 400 crore) in all the three facilities in Faridabad till now and recently inaugurated a manufacturing facility in Pune for producing electric cargo and passenger vehicles" he added.
Uday Narang also stated that OSM will soon be inaugurating another facility in Chennai, which will only cater to OSM electric passenger vehicles. OSM is also gearing up to introduce retrofit vehicles in India.
The new OSM manufacturing unit in Faridabad will have automated manufacturing systems for logistics, material handling, fabrication, painting, assembly, and quality assurance designed to promote sustainability, good ergonomics, and to allow maximum production.
