Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the Innova Crysta facelift in the country and the popular MPV has received a mid-lifecycle refresh with cosmetic upgrades and new features. The 2021 Toyota Innova Crysta facelift is priced from Rs. 17.68 lakh, going up to Rs. 26.77 lakh (all prices ex-showroom India, except Kerala). Compared to the pre-facelift version, the new model has seen a price hike of Rs. 60,000 on the base trims, and of Rs. 70,000 on the top trims. The Toyota Innova completes 15 years of sales in India and is an iconic model in the premium MPV segment. The company has sold over 8.80 lakh units of the offering over two generations, while nearly 3 lakh units have been sold of the current generation version itself. The Toyota Innova Crysta commands a segment share of 43 per cent.

With respect to exterior changes, the 2021 Toyota Innova Crysta facelift gets a new trapezoidal front grille finished in piano black with chrome inserts. The unit merges into the headlamps that get projector lens with LED daytime running lights. The model also comes with the reworked front bumper design, new fog lamp housing and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels that add a modern look. There's a new Sparkling Black Crystal Shine colour available as well.

The cabin has been upgraded on the Toyota Innova Crysta facelift with a new touchscreen infotainment system that gets Smart Playcast and adds features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The car also comes with connected tech like real-time vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, last parked location and more. Customers now have the option to choose for Camel tan leather upholstery in the cabin on the ZX trim of the MPV. All other features have been carried over on the Innova Crysta facelift including the layout and the car continues to be offered in seven and eight-seater configurations.

The MPV also gets a host of safety aids including seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill Start Assist. The updated version is equipped with front clearance sonar (with MID display) or front parking sensors as standard that prevents collisions while parking in tight spaces.

Engine options on the 2021 Toyota Innova Crysta facelift comprise the 2.7-litre petrol tuned for 164 bhp and 245 Nm of peak torque, while paired with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The diesel version draws power from a 2.4-litre unit with 148 bhp, while torque varies from 343 Nm on the 5-speed manual version, going up to 360 Nm on the 6-speed automatic.

The Toyota Innova Crysta remains one of the most consistently selling models in the brand’s portfolio. The MPV continues to compete against the Mahindra Marazzo and Kia Carnival at different ends of the segment. The new Innova Crysta is sold in multiple variants - G, G+, GX, VX and the range-topping ZX.
