Classic Legends has brought the classic JAWA look from the 1960s to the forefront. The new JAWA 300 aspires to offer the best fusion of modernity and retro glamour. It comes with round headlamps, , extensive chrome treatment and the traditional maroon colour. There is the flat seat in a tan shade and analogue speedometer. Spoke wheels, the twin-pea shooter exhaust setup and chunky fuel tank (with the special JAWA inscription) complete the look. Comfort-wise, the JAWA 300 rides well, especially over bad roads and is one of the head-turners on the road.
The JAWA 300 rides best at relaxed cruising speeds. The engine does not feel stressed when you cruise at 80-100 kmph on the hihgway. The front suspension system is on the softer side. This means that the bike can absorb potholes and bumps with ease. The rear suspension setup is a little stiffer, restricting ride quality on such poor roads/surfaces. The suspension may be adjusted till 5 steps, making it helpful for riders.
The JAWA 300 ensures enhanced comfort for riders, particularly over long distances. The bike offers good ergonomics and a comfortable riding position. The sitting position is upright and it is comfortable for shorter riders too. Yet, taller people may find things slightly uncomfortable with seat height of 765 mm. The footpegs are positioned slightly forward for maximum convenience. The handlebar is also pretty high. Overall, comfort-wise, the JAWA 300 does live up to expectations.
The JAWA 300 comes with several technologies including single-channel and dual-channel ABS options. It also gets an engine kill switch, low oil indicator, fuel warning indicator, fuel gauage and low battery indicator among other readouts.
The JAWA 300 offers 37.5 Kmpl of mileage.
The JAWA 300 performs reasonably well with its 293 cc liquid-cooled and fuel-injected engine. The engine dishes out 27 bhp and 27.02 Nm of maximum torque. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox that shifts smoothly, making for a pleasurable riding experience. The JAWA 300 can cruise easily at speeds of 100 kmph or slightly more on the highway without the engine getting stressed.
The JAWA 300 is certainly good value for money in this segment. It is priced competitively while offering good features, ABS options, a powerful engine and an iconic design. The brand value of the motorcycle series is undeniable while the design and road presence are attractive. All in all, the JAWA 300 makes for a good option in a segment packed with formidable rivals like the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
Pros
Cons
The Jawa Jawa or Jawa 300 is a modern classic roadster with design which is near identical to the original Jawa two-stroke 250 cc motorcycles from the 1960s and '70s, although the new Jawa comes with a four-stroke 300 cc engine. Even though it's not a performance-oriented motorcycle, the Jawa looks great, is built well, and has brilliant ride and handling, backed by the performance of an engine which doesn't really have too many negatives.
JAWA 300 is available in 5 different colors namely Maroon, Gray, Black, Jawa Khakhi & Jawa Midnight Grey.
