Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has undergone a significant design overhaul, shedding its older van-like look for a more upright and aggressive design.

The new Ertiga sports a more aggressive stance, and while it doesn’t come with LED daytime running lights, the boomerang-shaped tail lamps and chrome detailing add a touch of premium styling. The design is largely inspired by the Toyota Innova Crysta, making it look more premium and less utilitarian.

Ertiga comes with two engine options, a petrol and a diesel, both of which provide solid performance for long-distance drives and city commutes alike.

The petrol engine is refined, offering good power delivery without feeling stressed even at higher revs. The 1.3L diesel engine is more suited for highway cruising, with excellent fuel efficiency figures. Both the manual and automatic transmissions shift smoothly, though the automatic is a traditional torque converter rather than an AMT, making it a better option for those seeking smoother gear transitions.

Ertiga isn’t designed for aggressive driving but excels in offering a comfortable ride for its passengers. The new Heartect platform ensures improved handling while maintaining excellent ride quality.

The ride quality has improved significantly over the previous generation. However, body roll is noticeable during sharp cornering, which is expected from an MPV with a higher center of gravity. The 15-inch wheels feel slightly undersized for the car's dimensions, and a set of 16-inch wheels could enhance the handling further.

Inside, the Ertiga delivers on its promise of spaciousness and comfort, with several new interior features designed to enhance the driving and passenger experience.

The second and third-row seats are spacious enough to accommodate adults comfortably. The roof-mounted AC ensures that all passengers remain cool, even during long journeys. The ventilated cup holders are a nice touch, making it easier to keep beverages cool.
