Suzuki Motorcycle India, Private Limited (SMIL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation. Headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana, SMIPL was established post its split with 19-year long partner TVS. After Suzuki parted ways with TVS it agreed to temporarily cease operations (two-wheelers only) in India for a period of 30 months. Currently retailing both scooters and motorcycles in India, Suzuki resumed operations with the launch of Access scooter. The Access nameplate was a huge success and continues to be a part of the company’s product portfolio. Suzuki introduced various models in the motorcycle segment but failed to gain traction until it introduced Gixxer series. One of the other influential models in its product portfolio, Hayabusa is now available as a CKD unit, observing significant drop in price. Suzuki India’s range comprises scooters, bikes, super bikes and ATVS.
