About Triumph Speedmaster

The 2021 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster gets a 1,200 cc 'high torque' parallel-twin engine which is liquid-cooled and makes 78 bhp at 6,100 rpm with a peak torque output of 106 Nm at 3,850 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets ABS, traction control, cruise control and ride-by-wire. The ride-by-wire throttle offers two riding modes - Rain and Road, both modes offering full power, but with slightly subdued throttle response in Rain mode for riding in slippery conditions.

The bodywork on the 2021 Speedmaster employs minimalist design with some authentic touches that keep the iconic Speedmaster look, such as the side-mounted ignition barrel, the classic rear ‘drum-brake’ inspired hub, the battery box with its heritage-style stainless steel restraining strap and much more. The instrument console has a new bezel for 2021, with subtle Bonneville branding, and a new dial face. The LCD display is controlled via an easily accessible and intuitive handlebar mounted scroll button. For great efficiency and longevity, full LED lighting - headlight, rear light, indicators and number plate light - is a standard feature of the 2021 Speedmaster and the headlight is equipped with a distinctive LED daytime running light for increased visibility.

The Speedmaster though gets twin 310 mm discs on the front wheel gripped by two-piston Brembo callipers, while at the rear, it gets a single 255 mm disc with a Nissin callipers. Up front, the motorcycle gets 47 mm Showa forks and at the rear, there is a monoshock with RSU linkage that is adjustable for preload. At 263 kg wet weight, the Bonneville Speedmaster is not a light motorcycle at all. The Bonneville Speedmaster has a service interval of 10,000 miles or 16,000 kilometres which helps to keep the cost of ownership low.

It has a superb engine which packs enough performance to make every ride enjoyable, and the handling to make less experienced riders feel confident about its capabilities and expert pilots appreciate its taut road manners. For cruiser lovers, it definitely offers something different than the current crop of American cruisers available in the segment.
