The TVS Apache RTR 160 2V retains its muscular stance and sporty appeal. Updates include a new LED headlamp and taillight, along with refreshed graphics and color schemes. The silhouette remains similar to its predecessor but still feels contemporary amidst modern 160cc bikes.

The bike now comes with a fully digital instrument console, borrowed from its sibling, the RTR 160 4V. This console features TVS' SmartXonnect system, offering Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and even a lap timer. Additionally, riders can switch between three riding modes—Rain, Urban, and Sport—making it versatile for different riding conditions

The 159.7 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine continues to power the Apache RTR 160 2V. Power delivery varies based on the riding mode:

• In Rain and Urban mode, the bike produces 13.14 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 12.70 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, with a top speed of 97 km/h.
• In Sport mode, the bike delivers a more spirited 15.82 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 13.85 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, with a top speed of 107 km/h

The bike is most enjoyable in Sport mode, offering responsive throttle input and a strong mid-range. However, the engine shows its age with vibrations creeping in after 80 km/h, which is common among air-cooled engines. It is not the most refined motor in its class, but the mid-range performance remains impressive​.

The Apache RTR 160 2V is built for agile handling, and with its short 1300 mm wheelbase and light 138 kg weight, it is nimble in city traffic. The reduction in weight from the previous model enhances its flickability and responsiveness when changing directions. 

However, the front suspension feels a bit soft, causing the bike to feel unsettled at high speeds or over sharp bumps.

While the braking setup is decent, offering confidence in most conditions, a stronger bite from the front brake would have been appreciated. The overall handling is fun and engaging, making the Apache RTR 160 2V a solid city performer​.

The bike is designed with a low seat height of 790 mm, making it accessible to riders of varying heights. However, taller or heavier riders may find the rider triangle a bit cramped, as the seating position is sportier and more forward-set. Despite this, the bike feels manageable in urban settings and provides adequate comfort for short to medium-distance rides.

For everyday commuting, the riding posture is sporty but still comfortable, allowing riders to stay in control without experiencing too much fatigue​.
