The Ronin’s design is a unique fusion of multiple motorcycle genres, which makes it stand out. It blends elements of roadsters, scramblers, and cruisers, making it difficult to categorize. The gold-finished 41mm Showa upside-down forks add a premium touch to the front, complemented by a teardrop-shaped 14-litre fuel tank. 

The offset single-pod digital instrument console is designed for modern riders, offering a host of features such as smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and voice command via the TVS SmartXonnect system​.

While the front half of the Ronin—dominated by its LED headlight and wide handlebar—looks muscular and appealing, the rear design has received mixed opinions. The long rear fender and the somewhat disjointed grab rail don’t completely blend with the rest of the bike’s styling, but the overall build quality is impressive

The Ronin's 225cc single-cylinder four-valve engine strikes a good balance between speed and torque, making it versatile for city riding as well as leisurely road trips. Producing 20.1 bhp at 7750 rpm and 19.93 Nm at 3750 rpm, the engine offers ample low-end torque, ensuring that the bike pulls cleanly even at lower speeds without frequent gear shifts. The 5-speed gearbox, borrowed from the Apache 200 but with shorter gearing, enhances the bike’s tractability​.

While the Ronin may not be as aggressive or high-revving as some short-stroke engines, it compensates with a refined and smooth performance. The slipper clutch makes shifts seamless, and the assist feature ensures a light clutch lever action. The Ronin’s top speed, which we clocked at around 107 km/h, may not be exhilarating for hardcore enthusiasts but is adequate for most urban riders.

The TVS Ronin shines in terms of handling. Its double-cradle split steel frame provides excellent stability, and the bike feels light on its feet despite its 160 kg kerb weight. The 41mm Showa forks up front and the gas-charged monoshock at the rear contribute to a plush ride, absorbing road imperfections with ease. Whether navigating tight city streets or taking on twisty roads, the Ronin delivers confidence-inspiring control​.

The bike is equipped with dual-channel ABS (in the top-spec variant), offering two modes: Urban and Rain, ensuring safety in low-traction conditions. The braking system, consisting of disc brakes on both ends, offers effective stopping power even in wet condition

TVS has designed the Ronin with comfort in mind. The upright seating position, coupled with a well-padded seat, ensures that both the rider and pillion can ride for extended periods without discomfort. The slightly rear-set footpegs provide a relaxed riding stance, while the wide handlebars reduce the strain on the rider’s wrists.
