First launched in 2012, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the fastest-selling MPV in India and dominates the segment with a 37.5 per cent market share

The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga seven seater MPV will be launched very soon in India and according to new details, the automaker had confirmed that only the petrol version of the car will get an automatic gearbox. The automatic gearbox on the petrol 1.5-litre engine will be a conventional 4-speed torque convertor automatic and not an AMT as with some of the other Maruti Suzuki cars offered in India. The diesel on the other hand, as the title suggests, will not get an automatic gearbox or even an AMT like on the Vitara Brezza and will only be offered with a 5-speed manual option.

The updated Ertiga gets minor cosmetic updates, added equipment and a new DualJet petrol engine and 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The upcoming 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be offered in four trims - LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+, with optional automatic variants offered with the VXI, ZXI and ZXI+ trims. The MPV will come in 7 colour options and will get CNG and Tour variants as well.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga achieved the landmark figure in 10 years since the first generation went on sale in 2012.
