After exchanging places in all the Free Practice sessions, both the Mercedes drivers were on track for another fight to the finish in the qualification session. A wet race track saw all the teams opting for intermediate tyres and Rosberg capitalized on this weather to beat team-mate Lewis Hamilton at the Spa-Francorchamps.

Max Verstappen, son of successful Dutch F1 driver - Jos Verstappen, is set to become the youngest driver in Formula One history next year as the Dutch teenager replaces Jean-Eric Vergne to join Daniil Kvyat at Scuderia Toro Rosso. Verstappen will start driving for the team from 2015, aged just 17.
KTM CEO Stefan Pierer announced that the Austrian company will participate in the MotoGP World Championship in 2017. The company will bring a brand new machine featuring a V4 engine that will be called the KTM RC16.

Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) has introduced a new category called LMP3 (Le Mans prototype 3), which will run starting 2015. Launched simultaneously in Austria at the Red Bull Ring and in South Korea at Inje Autopia, the LMP3 will take part in next year's European and Asian Le Mans Series that include LMP2 cars.
